![]() The Veterans History Project is a project of the American Folklife Center in the Library of Congress that encourages war veterans; their families, veteran groups, community groups, and students to audio and videotape the memories of veterans' time in service. West Virginia's Veterans History Project is a grassroots campaign to collect the stories of West Virginia's 202,000 veterans. The project is dependent upon the participation of individuals and groups throughout the state to collect stories of veterans to send to the Library of Congress. The project is designed to preserve the histories of American veterans and civilians who were involved in World War I, World War II, and the Korean, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf Wars. It will preserve the stories of all men and women (civilian and military) who were affiliated with each of the wars.
